Following my client's order, we got to work with Mamadou in Senegal.

Mamadou uses techniques from another time on a daily basis. Working with him was a real pleasure and allowed me to fulfill my client's desire.

I went to his workshop in Senegal for a month to create this historic replica. I took with me filmmaker and friend, Noé Caudray, who immortalised all the stages of creation.

Faced with the amount of work, Mamadou called his uncle Dema and his cousin Amadi to help us. We all worked together, the Swiss clan and the entire family of jewellers from father to son.

The necklace is made of silver, then gilded with fine gold in an electroplating workshop in Geneva.
